DO WANT

DO WANT.

This is an integrally-suppressed .44-caliber bolt action. It is awesome, and we wants it. I'm not even certain to whom this thing belonged, but it was on the line at the Hero Gear shoot in Tennessee this weekend. I couldn't believe how quiet .44 Magnum was, and .44 Specials were as quiet as the semi-auto suppressed .22s.

If I may be allowed to get political for a moment here, every time I go outside Illinois borders and shoot NFA weapons, I come back with a yearning for a suppressed .22. Truthfully, they make even more sense in Illinois than in Tennessee. Illinois has few places as isolated as your average Tennessee hollow or cove, and north of the Shawnee there are few hills, let alone mountains to wall in sound. If you're shooting in Illinois, chances are your neighbors are listening to it. Suppressors should be common here. They make simple common sense. I'm not suggesting that Illinoiscarry, the ISRA or NRA start agitating to legalize NFA in Illinois; their eyes need to remain on the prize of concealed carry. But there should come a day . . . .
